Welcome to The Book BYTCH

Welcome to The Book BYTCH! I'm Erika, a book addict who loves boxed wine, strong coffee, and  having a York peppermint patty every night after dinner.

I’m also an avid baseball fan. I watch Orioles baseball as if it’s my job. So you’ll notice a change in my tone during baseball season.

I'm a combat veteran who met my husband twenty ago when we were in tech school. Our dogs (Kone, aged 16 Yorkie Terrier mix, and Sundae, aged 15 Staffordshire Terrier mix) have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

In February 2024, we adopted brother Siamese kittens (Wexler and Dodger, both now 1 year)

The tiny agents of chaos have turned me into a raging lunatic of a cat mom. Don't be surprised if you see me in public with a cat t-shirt covered in fur. That's just my life now, and I love it.

I live in yoga pants and sweatshirts. Sometimes I jazz things up with a cat themed sweater. But I am a creature of comfort.

I've published two books and three RPGS, and am currently working on my first visual novel (squeal).

I started this blog because I am an emotional reader and read A LOT. This isn't an exaggeration. I don't listen to music, I listen to audiobooks. And when I'm not listening to a book, I'm writing.  If I'm not writing, I'm reading.

You get the picture.

Why did I name my blog " The Book BYTCH"? Because "The Book Bitch" was already taken.

So I decided to turn BYTCH into an acronym.

*You'll notice that the people/ characters in my blog are cats. Cats are adorable, and there's no way I could offend anyone by making them fuzzy felines (unless they hate cats—but we probably wouldn't be friends).

I'm your host through this literary journey. I'll review a book and give my unfiltered reaction. And I'll tell you if it's worth allocating some of your precious time to read. That's what friends do, right? We're honest with each other.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
